This two-hour seminar focuses on the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 and the safe handling and requirements for the safe transportation of pressure cylinders. Including safe handling and storage of high-pressure cylinders. Proper documentation of cylinders to be transported to and from prospective clients including the proper documentation required for transportation across state lines since some fire equipment companies working in Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDA) and what to expect if there is a release from one of these cylinders on a federal or state highway. Required labeling, protection of the valves when transporting. This course teaches professionals of all technical skill levels the knowledge they need in handling low and high-pressure cylinders. The course will help Fire Inspectors to identify and understand high pressure cylinders for up-to-date certifications when conducting inspections.

Course Title: Introduction to The Compressed Gas Association Pamphlets  (Two-Hour Class for Fire Dealers & Inspectors)

This two-hour seminar is an introduction to the CGA (Compressed Gas Association Pamphlets) and how they are interrelated to the Code of Federal Regulations Part 29. It gives students an understanding of low-and high-pressure hydrostatic testing and differences between the two different tests. It also gives the students information regarding safety and to be able to answer potential questions about the different types of hydrostatic testing and why hydrostatic testing is required.

We cover the methods of different hydrostatic testing and their differences, yet they serve the same objective. Safety factors are an important portion of this class as required and this class covers safety factors associated with the everyday handling of high- and low-pressure cylinders. 

Course Title: State of Florida & Manufacturers Requirements (Four-Hour Class for Fire Dealers & Inspectors)

Approved for Licensees, Permittees, Fire Extinguishers. Pre-Engineered Systems this course satisfies four-hour of Technical CEU’s for Licensees or Permittees toward their 16 required hours requirement for every two years 

This four-hour seminar focuses on the requirements for the installation and maintenance of pre-engineered fire protection systems as and fire extinguishers in commercial kitchens as required by the State of Florida and the manufacturers. We discuss the importance of servicing pre-engineered systems in a professional manner to retain customers and increase sales. We discuss the placement and servicing of fire extinguishers and pre-engineered systems to recognize issues that are associated with improper maintenance and installation so corrective action can be addressed.

We also teach how to properly service and maintain their listings and inform students of the liability when these standards are not maintained. If the fire extinguisher technician recognizes issues, they can make the owner aware or address the issues and advise corrective action. 

Course Title: Introduction to Portable Fire Extinguishers and Pre-engineered Fire Systems”  

  (Three-Hour Class for Fire Equipment Dealers)

This course is approved in the State of Florida for 3 CEU technical hours toward their 16 required hours requirement for every two years. 

This three-hour course is a short introductory class that touches on the requirements for proper installation and maintenance as required per Florida State Statutes, Administrative Code, and Underwriters Laboratory and familiarization of manufactures manuals of fire extinguishers and pre-engineered fire systems. During the presentation, the student can reference NFPA 10, 96 and 17A.

This course is designed to inform students of the requirements of the manufacturer manuals and NFPA. We discuss the importance of servicing pre-engineered systems in a professional manner to retain customers and increase sales by sharing knowledge and the importance of proper maintenance with customers. The course shares how to identify and recognize problems associated with improper maintenance and possible prior installation as well as discuss liability when state and manufactures standards are not followed.

It also teaches professionals the knowledge they need to effectively ascertain issues while saving time, money and providing the public with the service of protecting life and property with proper maintenance and distribution of fire extinguishers.

This is a one-hour seminar focusing on the Owner, Supervisor and Employee responsibility associated with Florida State Statue 440. The purpose of the employer is providing workers comp insurance as outlined in the Florida Statutes. The purpose of workers comp providing medical treatment/benefits to employees for work related injuries to facilitate return to gainful employment. Who is covered what is covered and employee responsibilities?

Course Title: Portable Fire Extinguishers “Distribution”

(State Pre-approved Two-hour)

Audience: Fire Extinguisher Licensees, Permitees and Fire Inspectors that question if the proper number of fire extinguishers are distributed throughout a facility during occupancy or prior to a certificate of occupancy being issued.

 

This is a two-hour or four-hour seminar focusing on distribution of fire extinguishers. This course spends considerable time on the formula in NFPA 10 in regards for placement of per square foot required for each extinguisher. We then discuss the hazards noted on site and the required extinguishing agent required for which size extinguisher per unit of A or Class B hazard. This course shows the dependency of identifying the hazard to be protected and square footage. This course teaches fire extinguishers technicians the skill levels and knowledge they need to save time and money while providing the public with the service when protecting life and property.

 

Course Title: NFPA 10 (Pre-approved Sixteen-Hour Seminar for Fire Equipment Dealers & Inspectors)

This course is designed for the Fire Equipment Dealers or Fire Inspectors responsible for inspecting or approving Fire Extinguishers for certificate of occupancy.

A sixteen-hour seminar that focuses on NFPA 10 standard and the requirements for installation and maintenance of fire extinguishers. The course is based on NFPA 10 latest adopted by the State of Florida, but can be designed toward whichever copy of NFPA 10, or current code adopted in your jurisdiction or state, and is related to local codes.

We discuss the importance of servicing fire extinguishers in a professional manner to retain customers and increase sales. Each student is required to have a current copy of NFPA 10 being used for the course. We teach the student how to maintain fire extinguisher's listings and inform students of the liability when these standards are not maintained. And, professionals of all technical skill levels will gain the knowledge they need and will save time, and money while providing occupant owners the service of protecting life and property with proper maintenance and distribution of fire extinguishers 

Course Title: NFPA 96 HOODS (State Pre-approved Four-hour seminar)

Audience: Pre-engineered kitchen system licensees and permittees or Fire Inspectors that want to increase their knowledge of kitchen system during installation inspections or annual inspections.

This four-hour seminar focuses on the requirements for the installation and maintenance of pre-engineered systems in hoods. This course is based on NFPA 96 and how it is interrelated with your local codes, and statutes. This course teaches the importance of following the manufactures manual during installation.

We discuss the importance of servicing hood systems with proper manufacturer’s parts while maintaining the UL listing and integrity of the hood then emphasizing proper cleaning procedures in a professional manner to retain customers and increase sales. The course teaches liability when these standards are not maintained. It is for professionals of all technical skill levels the knowledge they need in a highly effective manner that saves time and money while providing the public with the service of protecting life and property with the proper maintenance.

Course Title: Restaurant Systems

Course ID FP6314 (pre-approved eight-hour seminar)

This eight-hour seminar covers restaurant systems specifically. Hazards associated with improper/proper hood recognition NFPA 96, NFPA 17A and why dry chemical pre-engineered system are no longer acceptable extinguishing agents for restaurants.

We discuss and address UL listings and the requirements of manufactures manuals and how the manufactures manuals are laid out in the table of contents for all manufactures. The UL test for grease laden vapors is heavily discussed and proper cleaning in order for the fire protection system to work properly.

The importance of educating the kitchen staff, chefs and managers on how and when to activate the system in order for the fire protection system to work properly. This course teaches professionals of all technical skill levels the knowledge they need in a highly effective manner that saves time, money while providing the public the service of protecting life and property.
